Biker Blast-Off

Crowd controlled game for 'The Gadget Show Live'.

Biker Blast-off was a great project for Mutant labs, not only because it was played by over 30,000 audience members from the Gadget Show Live, but because of the unique control methods used in the game, something we like to consider to be a specialty of ours.

We were approached to produce the crowd controlled edition of Biker Blast-Off by North One Television. They needed a version of Mediatonic's iPhone App that took inputs from the audience of their live show to control the game. To achieve this, the mutants needed to completely recode the game in actionscript, redesign the user interface to fit the new gameplay mechanic, and also create new illustrated assets for an additional character based on the Gadget Show presenter Jason Bradby. Some of our team were even lucky enough to attend the show as tech support and watch this little gem in action! The game was played 3 times a day by huge audiences over the course of the Gadget Show Live, and it worked pretty well too.
